St. Louis sights and sounds

The Arch and the Old Courthouse:
As the tallest national monument in the United States, the Arch stands tall at 630 feet symbolizing St. Louis's role as the historical gateway to the west.

Forest park:
At 1293 acres, the Forest park is one of the largest urban parks in the United States and hosted the World's Fair in 1904 which drew more than 20 million visitors from around the world. Today it attracts visitors with its museums, zoo, boat yard, amphitheatre, and golf courses. Best of all, its free :D

Delmar loop:
Located 10 mins walk away from the Washington University in St. Louis, the Delmar loop houses many restaurants, pubs, two movie theatres. Its a popular hangout for wash-u students and has many fun activities happening during the weekends.

The city museum:
The city museum is an eclectic mixture of children's playground, funhouse, surrealistic pavilion, and architectural marvel made out of unique, found objects. Fun for people of all ages, this is the place to go, if you want to unleash your inner child.

Caves:
Known as the cave-state, Missouri is the home for more than 5500 caves. Most of these caves stretch for miles and amaze visitors every day with their breathtaking beauty and sheer magnitude. Many popular caves are within 2 hours drive from St. Louis, and I would recommend Onondaga Caves (for lovely large caverns) and Meramec Caverns (for a more touristy experience)

Missouri botanical garden:
Founded in 1859, the Missouri Botanical Garden is the nation's oldest botanical garden in continuous operation and a National Historic Landmark. It offers 79 acres of beautiful horticultural display, including a 14-acre Japanese strolling garden, Henry Shaw's original 1850 estate home, and one of the world's largest collections of rare and endangered orchids.

Busch stadium:
For all you baseball fans, this is the place to be. The Busch stadium is the home of the 2006 world-series champions, the St. Louis Cardinals.
